I always love looking back on life, fishing though memories, and discovering the journey that got us where we are at. Sure the basic story is there, I picked up a camera 5 years ago, shot an engagment session for fun, and went with it. But really discovering the journey has been the best part. I love looking back to when I was a kid on vacation looking at my Father and Uncle hauling their camera equipment with us and them taking the most beautiful images. I always admired them for it. Because of them, I always wanted to pick up a camera and create beautiful images. I had some toy cameras I could tinker with but never took the time to learn the craft. I remember my first epic fail as a kid photographer where I tried taking a picture of a Christmas tree in a very very dark room, the picture came out, well black, with a few Christmas lights that you could barely see. That was the last time I actually tried to take a Picture for years to come. Fast forwarding 10 years, my sister married the love of her life. That wedding was still one of my favorite days. Not only did I get to celebrate something incredibly special with my Sister, but looking back, when that night was over, I realized I loved weddings. I thought to myself a way to incorporate it into a job and I had nothing, it wasn’t until 4 years later that I realized that I could combine a love of photography and a love of weddings into one of the most amazing adventures of my life.
Some of you may remember Shaun and Nicolle’s Engagement session in Estes Park. Their wedding had an incredible sense of family, close friends and plenty of love in the air. The feeling I had at Shaun and Nicolle’s wedding was simply inspiring, much like my sisters wedding, when I started to realize the life I wanted to lead. Thank you Shaun, Nicolle and all your friends and family for allowing me to be apart of your day and continuing inspiring me.
Now for the pics!
